Friends in the forest

One of the best things about where we live is there is so much nature around us. Holly and I took a walk and explored a bit. Although we didn't run into any real animals....these were quite happy to sit and listen to The Grouchy Ladybug.

Can you tell I had a lot of fun with this little kiddo today?  And for those of you who are wandering....Yes, she did get a new My Little Pony after this session but I think $5 was well deserved, don't you?

30 minutes at Hermosa Beach

Last weekend we drove to Hermosa Beach to explore for what we thought would be a couple of hours. Turns out, we were there about 30 minutes when somebody...(cough, cough -Holly) was ready to leave and let everybody know it! Even though our visit wasn't long, we had a nice time while it lasted. We walked down the pier and saw dolphins in the water. Then as we were walking back toward shore a couple pointed out a Tiger Shark in the water. It was quick and I didn't get a picture. It was fun even though a little someone didn't want to stay and enjoy more time there. The big girls said we need Nanny 911 to come help us out. Some days I agree!

One day after school...

It's like all the forces of the universe have to come together...the day has to be right, the timing has to be right, the temperature has to be right, it had to have been a good day at school, she had to have her after-school snack already, there can't be anything good on TV...so that when I ask her....

"Want to take some pictures in the backyard?"

She say's....

"YES"

Who's got spirit? Whoo Whoo...

Only 3 weeks at her new school and this girl is on the cheer team.  Her school's mascot is the Owls, hence my title above.  I got to watch her in action last week when she cheered for the school assembly.   Proud mama I am!

Fall Festival

Tonight we went to Hannah's Fall Festival at school. Everyone went dressed up in costume and they had food, contests and trick-or-treating in the classrooms.  It was fun and nice to get a chance to meet some of Hannah's friends.   Don't you just love the view behind them?  I love taking the girls to school because the drive over is just gorgeous everyday!

Before we left for the school, I took a few other pictures in the yard of all my girls.  This year we have an 80's rockstar, Monster High's Frankiestein and a bumble bee.  We still have our church festival to attend on Saturday and Halloween on Monday.

CrAzY hair & sock day

It's Red Ribbon Week and today is "Crazy Hair & Sock Day".  Hannah created her crazy hairdo and socks and I just took the picture.  She looks so cute!  Holly thought it was funny to drop Hannah off at school this morning and see all kinds of craziness going on with the other kids.  She has informed us that next year when she goes to school, she wants purple hair!

A Day at Castaic Lake

SoCal's weather is just awesome!!   It's cool in the mornings and evenings but gets warm in the afternoons. We decided to take the day to explore the lake close by.   It was so pretty!   I'm so glad it's only 10 minutes away. I can definately see more days ahead like this!

Birthday Girl

I snapped a few pictures of this cutie in our backyard on her birthday. These are my favorite shots that I got!

Look who turned 5!

Holly turned 5 years old! We moved to California so there wasn't a big party this year but her day was still filled with lot's of fun.

She woke up to lot's of "Happy Birthdays" wishes from me and her Dad and big sisters. We ate at her favorite restaurant for lunch...McDonald's. She even got to order an apple pie. When it was time to pick up the big girls from school that afternoon, Scott met me at the mall and we surprised Holly with a trip to Build-A-Bear.

Decisions, decisions...

Once she chose her animal, she got to help stuff it.

She gave it a bath with the help of her big sisters.

Later that evening we took her to Chuck E. Cheese for more fun, presents and cake!

Even though she misses her friends and family in Texas and didn't get to have a big party, we still tried to make sure this girl's day was special! I think we accomplished that! We love you Holly and hope your day was fun!
