Essie
Have you discovered Essie nail polish yet? Well, you must! I'm loving their polish...like totally loving it! It's not clumpy or thick and it goes on so smooth and dries fast too. Not to mention they have so many cool colors. I just bought Lollipop yesterday and am sporting some pretty ridiculous (that means really good) nails today! Holly even let me paint hers the same color last night (it might have had something to do with the cute name). Anyway, here are a few colors that I might have to get my hands on soon...especially for Spring.
Secret Story
Splash of Grenadine
Poppy Art Pink
Sweet Talker
Bahama Mama
Autumn Mulberry
And my flavor of the week favorite is Lollipop. It's a coral-red but not too orangy. Just perfect if you ask me.
So what are you waiting for? Run out and buy some Essie and look fabulous!

Hello Monday and Sunday outfit
My mom's surgery went well. She is at home now recovering. The weekend flew by...
I had a list of things I wanted to accomplish and I don't think anything on my list got crossed off. With the girls busy schedules lately, it leaves little time for anything else. We did manage to get a family bike ride in Sunday evening. My front porch still looks neglected. I had high hopes to get it looking all springy and all but I'll have to try it again next weekend. The girls play "Chicken Little" opens next Friday and runs through the 3rd weekend of April. April promises to be a busy month also. It doesn't have to stop...I just need time to slow down a bit!
On a side note, I'm starting a Sunday Outfit entry to be posted every Monday. Here's the first one.
sweater: Target; top: Target; black skinny jeans: Old Navy; brown wedge shoes: Target; belt: Forever 21
Here's to a Happy Monday and hoping I can be more organized when the weekend comes around!

Chicken Little
A Barnyard Comedy
Chicken Little has a history. We all know about it. She thought the world was coming to an end when that acorn fell and hit her on the head. The girl was straight-up tripping - right?! I mean I know I got a good laugh out of it. Well now this young, NEUROTIC "hot-mess" chick has got another crazy idea! She thinks the world is going to end in 2012! (It's a never-ending pattern with this girl. We're seriously looking into getting her some help. Does anyone know of a good chicken shrink?.....A chicken whisperer? I digress.)
So not only are we dealing with a hot-wing mess named Chicken Little, BUT we can't seem to find Lucky Ducky anywhere! It's been crazy around the yard without him...I miss him. Anyway, Mother Goose is shouting something at me, I better go!
All my love -
Heifer

California for Spring Break
Have I told you how much I love Southern California? Let me tell you again! I love it! It was me, Mimi, Hayley & Hannah...on the road for Spring Break. It was great and I'm missing it already.
Even though we had a great time, I sure was excited to get home and see these 2!

Happy Friday!
This morning as Holly and I were on our way to her school I made a quick stop to get my usual Friday morning treat. As I pulled into the Starbucks driveway, Holly says, "Momma are you going to get a skinny vanilla latte"? We laughed for a minute and then I pulled up to place my order. I had to take her picture to remember this morning and how she made me laugh!
Awww, that's the start of a lovely Friday morning!
Speaking of Starbucks...I was pleasantly surprised when I saw these little goodies added to their menu this morning. I can't wait to try each and every one!
Hope everyone has a Happy Friday and a great weekend too!

BBQ Benefit for my mom
A little over a month ago, I got some bad news...my mom has cancer. It was very scary but I tried to hold it together and be strong for my mom. She is very lucky that the kind of cancer she has does not require her to have to undergo chemo or radiation but she will have to have surgery. The cancer has not spread through her body or into her lymph nodes. It is contained in a small area in one breast. It was through a mammogram that this was detected. Early detection is a blessing. As a matter of fact, my mom has now been an advocate to get a yearly mammogram....something I need to do.
It has been such a blessing that she found a home in the church that Scott and I regulary attend. She has been an active member, even going on a mission trip to Haiti last November. The group that she went on the trip with have been such a blessing in her life. As soon as they found out about her cancer, they quickly (and I mean in a matter of 2 weeks) organized a BBQ Benefit for my mom's medical expenses. I cannot tell you how Thankful we all were that these wonderful people gave so selfishly their time to dedicate this for my mom. On this day, the sun was shining, there was a light breeze in the air and there were waves of awesome people in the community coming out to help a woman they did not know.
One of the families I saw there brought their family to eat and they sat on the lawn. I went and introduced myself and thanked them for their support. They explained to me that they were driving by and saw the signs and wanted to support others in the community because so many had supported them. They introduced me their little girl. She was 4 and her name was Nicole. She was wearing a cute hat and did not have any hair. Everytime I think of her I say a little prayer for them. I say lot's of prayers for my mom too as she still has a journey ahead of her. Her surgery for a double masectomy is scheduled for March 25th so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Papaw did a good job of putting up with the kids...

Hannah's Nerdy Glasses
She likes to wear these. She calls them her "Nerdy Glasses". They are actually from the movie theater, she just popped out the lenses. She may call them nerdy but I call them cute!

Bits from my weekend
We finally had a great weekend of weather! We spent some of our weekend riding our bikes. Scott got me a beach cruiser for my birthday and I haven't gotten to ride it that much but I love it...and it's pink of course! We got the girls bikes for Christmas and surprised Scott with a beach cruiser for Christmas so we could all ride together. Hannah has never wanted to learn to ride. She's perfectly happy with her scooter but we thought she needed to learn so Scott worked with her and she's doing great. We also put Holly to work washing my car and she loved it. I finally got around to pulling all the dead plants and weeds from my flower beds. It was nice to spend some family time together around the house.
