Bits from my weekend

It was a Girl's Day on Saturday. My friend Michelle and I got our girls together for a day of shopping and fun. We started out at Olive Garden, then Barnes & Noble, cooled off with some yummy treats from Starbucks and then headed to Forever 21. We browsed a few other stores along the way and finally ended our day with TCBY. The only thing that could have topped this day would have been getting pedicures! We'll have to plan that in our next Girl's Day for sure!

Bits from my weekend

We went to my mom's house on Friday to celebrate my sister's birthday.


I spent most of my weekend doing this.

We ate ice cream with the gift certificates Grandma gave the girls for Valentine's Day. Thank you Grandma!

Valentine's Day

We were kidless on Friday night and he drove straight from Dallas to pick me up and take me to dinner.  Dinner at Sakura is always a nice treat, especially just the two of us. 

Saturday, my love took all us girls to the movies to see Gnomeo & Juliet.  Not exactly his cup of tea but he did it with no complaints! 

Then on Monday, my love took me to California Pizza Kitchen for lunch and when I got home that evening, dinner was already taken care of.  Italian...my favorite! 

We gave the girls little gifts that kept them occupied. Then me and my valentine snuggled up on the couch and watched a movie together. It was a sweet day. Hope yours was too!

California Dreaming...

Maybe it's because we've had such crappy cold weather in Houston, or maybe it's because I need me some golden rays that only SoCal can bring me, maybe it's cause every time I see a plane up in the sky...I'm wishing I was on it flying straight there, maybe it's the excitement I feel when I'm there that I miss, maybe it's the smell of the salty moist air and the sound of the waves that I'm reminiscent of....

I don't know what it is but SoCal...you will always have my heart!

Hayley's Surprise Birthday Party

My good friend Michelle helped me plan out the details for a little surprise party for Hayley. She thought the only party she was getting was the little dinner with family the night of her birthday. So wrong and totally surprised!
First, Hannah gave Hayley a card to read. It was Clue#1 which said,

Some days are great and need to be celebrated too!
So today let's take the time to celebrate you!
Get Mom and me and let's go get a treat...
something cold and definately sweet.
A clue waits at the Starbucks for you.
It will tell you what next you should do.

So off we went to the Starbucks. We ordered 2 Caramel Frappacino's (Hayley & Hannah) and a Green Iced Tea (me). As we pulled away from the drive thru window, we saw these two friends of Hayley's.

Maddie & Kendall hoped in the car and gave Clue #2 to Hayley. It read:

Now you have friends to help you on your way...
Who else to be with on this celebration day!
Now here's your clue to get to the next place...
Hurry up! You have just started the race!
A place of fun and friends are made here
To tumble, do routines and loudly cheer!
Go Black, Gold and White! Fight, Fight, Fight!
This is the place to find the next clue in sight!

Inside we found Brooke and Victoria.

And they had Clue #3 which basically said to go back to the house. Sorry I can't remember the exact wording but my friend Michelle made it sound much cuter than this.



And then there were 6...


We headed home to eat pizza.

Open some presents...


Then there was a knock on the door...

And this was sitting on the porch...


Inside were gift bags for all the girls filled with candy and a BFF necklace. Hayley found movie tickets for each of her friends.


After pizza, presents and a delicious chocolate chip cookie cake, we loaded up and headed to the movies. Not sure why Hayley has 1 boot off? Maybe it's because her mother made her stuff candy in them!! That's right people...don't judge...movie candy is expensive!


The night ended with the girls sleeping over and Hayley told us this was the best party ever!
